CD-ROM Replication

Do you know the difference between CD-ROM replication and duplication? Replication involves creating a glass master and using an injection molding process to manufacture CD-ROMs. Once the equipment is set up, you can create a disc in a matter of seconds. Duplication, on the other hand, produces many copies of a disc at once. Duplicating equipment uses CD-R media and a series of recorders.

As with printing technology, CD-ROM replication has evolved, making smaller runs affordable. Now, you can copy, or duplicate, just a few CDs when you need them, rather than replicating thousands of them at once. This evolution is similar to what happened in the printing industry when smaller runs moved away from presses to digital copiers.

At Digital Force, we offer both types of services. When you need 500 or more CDs, we will replicate them from your master. You will need to supply us with all files and any artwork to be printed on them, upfront. You might also consider copying 500 or fewer CDs by duplicating them.

If your media needs change frequently, consider having your artwork screened onto blank CD-Rs, and storing them for later use. Then you can duplicate the necessary media onto the blank CD-Rs whenever you need them. We are eager to help you with your CD-ROM replication and duplication needs, so feel free to call us with any questions, at 1-877-DISC-USA.
