to produce CDs capturing the August 3, 2005 concert featuring
the Collegiate Chorale, one of New York’s foremost vocal
ensembles, performing with the UBS Verbier Festival
Orchestra in Verbier, Switzerland.
Since its creation in 2000, the UBS Verbier Festival
Orchestra has achieved an outstanding international
reputation for quality, vitality and commitment. The Orchestra
representing more than 25 countries is now in its sixth
year and continues to delight its international audiences.
The Orchestra was founded jointly in 2000 by UBS, the
financial services group, and Martin Engstroem,
Executive Director of the Verbier Festival & Academy.
Their common goal was to support young talents from different
cultures and nationalities. It has come to be widely recognized
as one of the leading training orchestras of the world.
The accomplished James Levine is the Conductor
Laureate of the UBS Verbier Festival
Orchestra. James Levine has been Music Director
at the New York Metropolitan Opera for over 30
years and was recently appointed Music Director of the
Boston Symphony Orchestra. He is not only an esteemed
conductor but also an abundant source of inspiration to
the orchestra.
Throughout the years Digital Force has been chosen to
work with some of the nation’s leading classical artists
and orchestras. Among them are: National Symphony
Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and
composer Michael Torke with members of the Baltimore
Symphony. In addition, soloists include Gil Shaham,
Leon Fleischer, Gary Graffman, Lee Luvisi, Carter Brey
as well as David Finckel, cellist and Wu
Han, pianist, founders of Artisled who also serve
as the Artistic Directors of the Chamber Music Society
of Lincoln Center.
